Dr Nissirios is a physician specializing in the practice of psychiatry across all ages. Dr Nissirios is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Child and Adolescent psychiatry.
Dr Nissirios specializes in treating adults, children, adolescents, and their families. She utilizes an individualized and comprehensive treatment approach targeted to ensuring the most positive outcomes for her patients.
Dr Nissirios completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. She then pursued her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the New York Presbyterian Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship of Columbia University and Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. During her training she also worked as a staff psychiatrist at the Northwell Health Emergency Telepsychiatry department providing emergency psychiatric evaluations to many different hospitals within the New York state.
Dr Nissirios worked at Columbia University children’s hospital outpatient clinic and continues to actively participate in the academic field as a faculty member at both Columbia University Medical Center and at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School providing direct supervision to trainees. Her scientific work has been published in various scientific journals and she has given multiple presentations at the American Psychiatric Association meetings and hospital grand rounds. Dr Nissirios is currently licensed to practice psychiatry in New Jersey and New York state.
